It’s not the prettiest, but there’s really nowhere else to put it so it’ll do. Luckily, TalkThru picked up some slack here, but having a lackluster ambient sound feature is a seriously bad pairing with great passive noise cancellation. The Flash X has what its spec sheet calls “JBL Charged Sound,” or “bold sound tuned for sport with rich bass to crush your workout.” You should largely disregard all that marketing speak, with the takeaway being that the 5.8 mm drivers in these earbuds are full of sound.I did not have the original True Wireless Flash on hand to test sound side-by-side with the Flash X, but by comparing everything we’ve said about those first-generation buds with the Flash X, I don’t think the sound quality has seen much change here.

Still these do what they were designed for and there’s no doubt that they’re a really good pair of exercise headphones.
Once you get the fitting right, they’ll only come out if you want them to. Buried in all that is also an access code for a free premium subscription to MapMyFitness for 1 year. The build is what you’d expect from a pair of exercise headphones. The small LED light on the module is also pretty helpful while charging and connecting to new devices. No amount of shaking my head can get them to fall out whether I was sitting at my desk or out for my morning run.
Read all reviews for JBL Under Armour Sports Wireless Bluetooth Headphones now and buy at £119. No pain, no gain.Pairing to the UA Headphones Wireless was really simple. The buds themselves have the same understated aesthetic as the originals, with the Under Armour logo on the endcap and JBL’s logo strewn across the side of these otherwise black earbuds. The JBL x Under Armour Sport Wireless Train headphones were built for the gym. That’s not up there with the likes of the Sony’s, which can last for 13 hours of non-active noise cancellation playback, but it’s right on track with the Epic Air Sport and significantly better than the Jabra Elite Active 75t, which come in at 7.5 hours and 28 total for $30 more. The Flash X carried over an IPX7 weather resistance rating from the first generation, protecting the buds against being submerged in up to three feet of water; that’s undoubtedly solid for workout earbuds. They do the job enough to not be annoyed by them, but not enough to be wowed by their call quality either. The JBL/Under Armour True Wireless Flash X got a couple of key upgrades that keeps them in the conversation alongside the best workout buds you can buy. Period. A lot of things about these headphones tend to be a trade-off. JBL Clip 3 review: Still a no-brainer. Normally we’re big fans of accuracy but while exercising sometimes it’s better to have a little more emotion in your music. It feels like these were trying so hard not to get caught up in the low-end criticisms some other brands have that they missed out on some key elements. We didn’t test this out obviously, but hopefully we’re wrong.Design-wise these aren’t the most unique looking pair of ‘buds, and for the most part look a lot like every other pair of wireless earbuds on the market. JBL claims that these internal and external strain reliefs, but it still feels like a good tug would tear them apart.
You won’t notice it while you’re wearing them, but your ears will give a little sigh of relief when you take them out. As workout-centric earbuds, I don’t know how often you’ll be lugging around the case in your pocket. Where these actually do differ from other earbuds is in the shape of the earbuds themselves.
That style is great for working out, as these buds didn’t budge in transit during walks and runs, and it creates effective passive noise cancellation with that air-tight seal. These should get you through plenty of workouts.Yes. According to these companies, TalkThru lowers music volumes and amplifies speech to make having a conversation with these earbuds in easier.
On the back of each earbud is the UA logo in red with the small JBL branding underneath in white. The bass in ‘Trust Me Danny’ by ILoveMakonnen is usually gritty and deep, but feels more like a regular synth in these. There’s a bit of a push in the mids which makes them great for vocals.
