With his brother, also named Dominique, Rizzo in 2000 founded the bakery La Boulangerie. I keep trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt, bc they're still relatively new and the servers are so kind, but the food truly is somewhat lacking.
He really gave us the perfect start to the day. The entrees were pricey but came with a lot of food and were worth the price. While the appetizer we ordered was really great it was really small for the price and was more meant as a personal appetizer and not great for sharing. This will definately be on my short list of restaurants to visit again and again.Wow....how disappointing. 7 on a Saturday night- OUT OF FOOD. Attire appears to me whatever you want. Inside is small, but quaint. Everything about it looked inviting. So glad we did because our meal was the best we've ever had in the 23 years of living in Nola. Perfection. The cocktail menu was small but done right. It's true authentic French cuisine! Rizzo eventually sold his share of the bakery to his brother. Seriously. I had the lamb french dip sandwich which was ok taste wise but for the price it was on the small size especially considering it didn't even come with any sides so not a great value. Every single thing from the specialty drinks (I had a sucre blue) to the 4 course meal was out of this world. Bordeaux exceeded my expectations. We will return for an evening meal when in town.I was wandering on this section of Magazine yesterday during the parades. Upperline achieved that during our evening dinner last week. We shared the duck pate, beef tartare, proscuitto flatbread (least impressive of them all, but still not bad), and tomato burrata salad to start.
